Occupational Therapy
Myofunctional Therapy
Myofunctional therapy, also called orofacial myology, uses static and dynamic strength exercises to retrain the tongue and orofacial muscles.
It can help people of all ages develop positive lifelong habits and see improvement in breathing, chewing, swallowing, digestion, facial esthetics, sleep quality, mood and more. Programs are developed for eliminating oral habits (i.e., pacifier use or thumb sucking).
Oral Motor Therapy
Oral motor therapy for infants and toddlers focuses on improving the function of the lips, tongue, and jaw, crucial for feeding and speech development, through exercises and activities that strengthen and coordinate these muscles.
